If you keep to yourself you're fine. But commuting on Fullerton at night can be a bit dangerous... Wouldn't recommend it. You do encounter random crime in the area due to some rougher parts in West Logan Sq., but I would say that the streets around the park are quite safe. There is a police station, a number of large churches, a few elementary schools in the area and I think that that has a lot to do with it.
