So, why not give this strong abillity of building rams to Infantry only? Without them units must destroy the walls first before dealing any damage to the city. As long as they are adjacent to the city any melee unit on the surrounding 6 tiles benefits from its effect. WebBattering rams are pretty effective, but there are a couple of caveats you should be aware of: They only work on ancient walls. They only work with melee and anti-cavalry units. Siege towers work on medieval walls, but again, they only work with melee and anti-cavalry units.
