WebAbstract The 3-hydroxypropionate/4-hydroxybutyrate (3HP/4HB) cycle fixes CO 2 in extremely thermoacidophilic archaea and holds promise for metabolic engineering because of its thermostability and potentially rapid pathway kinetics. WebThe dicarboxylate/4-hydroxybutyrate (DC/4-HB) cycle was described ( Huber et al., 2008) in thermophilic crenarchaeon Ignicoccus hospitalis but was present in other Crenarchaeota ( Berg et al., 2010) and all autotrophic members of Desulfurococcales and Thermoproteales.
Web(v) The dicarboxylate-hydroxybutyrate cycle [MD: M00374] was named after its intermediates: succinate (a kind of dicarboxylate) and hydroxybutyrate. This cycle has been found only in Ignicoccus hospitals, a strictly anaerobic hyperthermophilic archaea. WebMar 23, 2024 · The novel marine ultrasmall prokaryotes were demonstrated to collectively harbor the genes required for carbon fixation, in particular the “energetically efficient” dicarboxylate/4-hydroxybutyrate pathway and the 4-hydroxybutyrate pathway.
WebMetabolic pathway for biosynthesis of poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-4-hydroxybutyrate) from 4-hydroxybutyrate by Alcaligenes eutrophus. Eur. J. Biochem. 1995; 227 : 43-60 View in Article WebThe fixation of inorganic carbon into organic material (autotrophy) is a prerequisite for life and sets the starting point of biological evolution. In the extant biosphere the reductive pentose phosphate (Calvin-Benson) cycle is the predominant mechanism by which many prokaryotes and all plants fix CO2 into biomass. However, the fact that five alternative …
WebJun 1, 2013 · Abstract. Recently, evidence suggests that dark CO 2 fixation in the pelagic realm of the ocean does not only occur in the suboxic and anoxic water bodies but also in the oxygenated meso- and bathypelagic waters of the North Atlantic. To elucidate the significance and phylogeny of the key organisms mediating dark CO 2 fixation in the …
